One of the challenges facing our education system is the need to make it strongly employment oriented. The hospitality and catering industry is a vibrant part of the service sector. This industry offers exellent prospects for employment. I hope that the training offered would be prediodiacally fine tuned to the requirements of the Industry and young student would be able to make informed choices about career option in the area.

"What sets worlds in motion in the interplay of differences, their attraction and repulsion"

The culture in which each of us live, influences and shapes our feelings, attitudes and responses to our experiences and interaction with others.

At HIHT, we believe that learing about cultural diversity provides students with knowledge and skills for more effective communication in cross cultural environment. The first to be a good cross cultural communicator is to know yourself and to reflect thoughtfully on how you perceive things and how you act on those perceptions.

The more we know about the different cultural beliefs, values and attitudes of our global neighbors, the better prepared we will be to recognize and understand the difference in their cultural behavior. The knowledge of cultural difference and self-knowledge of how we usually respond to those differeces can make us aware of hidden prejudicesand stereotypeswhich are barrier to tolerance, understanding and good communication
